GroundLevel’s landscape design re-imagines this new library as a dynamic community hub for the City of Riverside. A vibrant entry plaza flows into a winding pedestrian promenade, drawing visitors in and inviting exploration.
The site features a large shade structure that doubles as a multi-purpose meeting area, along with group gathering spaces that support flexible programming. Distinct outdoor zones—including an active maker’s space patio and a peaceful reading circle—extend the library’s offerings into the landscape. Lush plantings and shade trees create a welcoming, inspiring environment that fosters connection, creativity, and learning.
